New shop opening!

I am always happy when someone asks me to buy one of my sketches.

When it happens, I order the print from a printing shop that I trust, receive the print, and ship it again to the customer. You can see the inefficiency of this process. Double shipping costs, repackaging, etc… I end up forced to charge more than I am comfortable with.

I was looking around for alternative solution, checking out other artists website, forum posts, blogs. I learned that drop-shipping is a thing. There are companies that print your art and deliver it directly to the customer, for a reasonable price. Cool. I just needed to find one suitable for my needs.

I tried a couple of the most popular, but I was not satisfied about the quality of the final result, and I almost gave up.

Until one day, Orwellian surveillance-capitalism targeted advertisement on Instagram did its dirty magic.

It brought to my attention ThePrintSpace. I checked them out, saw what they offered, got their print samples and a test of my print, and I was sold. High quality prints and paper, efficient service and super customer support.

The problem now was finding a solution to integrate their service in my website and socials. Without paying too much and with the least of sweat on my side, I mean.

In the end, I decided to activate a Shopify Lite account (the cheapest) and integrate their Buy Button on this site. I have to say that it doesn’t work too smoothly. Sometimes the buttons disappear with no reason, or the page needs to be refreshed to load it. I hope it will work well enough (I am looking around internet too see if people found workarounds or solutions).

(The idea of migrate the whole website elsewhere is daunting)

Anyway, from now on, there should be a Buy button under the sketches I post, in case somebody want to order a print. I also added a new shop section to the website, reachable via the navigation menu. Let’s see how it goes.
